Categories of membership

 

Who can be part  of ADNE?

Peoples of African descent who live in Europe, irrespective of their citizenship and nationality and who are willing to contribute to the development of Africa and economic growth in Europe and who respect the values of African Union, European Union and ADNE.

ADNE full members are the founding members, associate members and benefactor members.

Any association, organization and natural person, member of the African diaspora in Europe that requested to become a member of ADNE and that has significant activities in the areas related to ADNE's missions can become a member of ADNE for an indefinite period. Associate members must respect the values and principles of ADNE as defined by the ADNE Statutes and internal regulations. Associations, organizations or individuals that meet these conditions and whose membership has been approved by the Administration board and General Assembly become full members of ADNE. The application, signed by the legal representative (for associations / organizations) or the individual should be made in the form of a letter addressed to the President of the association. The President forwards the request to the Administration board that examines the admissibility before submitting the request to the General Assembly.

Full members constitute the General Assembly in which each fully paid up member has one vote. Associations / organizations appoint a representative to the General Assembly of the association. A member cannot represent more than two other members by proxy.

Founding members

The founding members are the people who participated physically in the creation of the association by signing these statutes.

Associate Members    

Any association, organization and natural person, member of the African diaspora in Europe that requested to become a member of ADNE and that has significant activities in the areas related to ADNE's missions can become a member of ADNE for an indefinite period. Associate members must respect the values and principles of ADNE as defined by the ADNE Statutes and internal regulations. Benefactor members

Benefactor members are individuals, associations or organizations that have agreed to financially support the association by paying a contribution of an amount greater than that owed by other full members or that regularly make donations to the benefit of the association.

Adherent Members

Adherent members are individuals, associations or organizations that adhere to the association by paying contributions for the sole purpose of benefiting from its services and activities without being bound by these statutes. Adherent members do not participate in the General Assembly, and if they are invited, they do not have the voting right and are not eligible to the Administration board.

Honorary members

Honorary members are personalities, both Africans and non-Africans, who provide special services to the association, support and accompany it in its growth. They can pay the contribution, but they are not required to do so. They are not bound by  ADNE statutes and have no voting right.

 

Membership application file

As defined in the article 10 of ADNE Statutes, any application for membership shall be addressed, in writing, to the President of the association.

Any application for membership shall be accompanied by:

For Associations/ entreprises

  • A copy of the legal document that determines the status of the applicant;
  • A signed declaration that states that the applicant is aware of the statutes and internal regulations of the ADNE.

For individuals:

  • a Curriculum Vitae/Biography
  • The new member shall sign a declaration that states that he/she is aware of the statutes and internal regulations of the ADNE;

The examination of the case is made by the Executive board. The Administration board appoints trustees in charge of reviewing the file; if necessary they visit the headquarters of the applicant association / organization or conduct an individual investigation. 

 

Contributions

The General Assembly of December 19th, 2015 fixed the amount of contributions for 5 years at:

50 euros/year (for individuals);

150 euros/year (for associations/ enterprises);

The contributions have to be paid before the 1st of March every year.
