The international Women’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate achievements in gender equality while remembering the struggles that are still faced by Women. In this framework, African Diaspora Network in Europe (ADNE) invites you to the Roundtable entitled: “SheSolidarity: Achieving Diaspora Women’s empowerment” to be held at the European Parliament on the 16th of March 2016 at 12h30-15h00.
The need to emphasize the role played by women in the diaspora is of great importance. The round table will discuss the necessary measures to promote the employment of Diaspora women and their integration into the labor market. The session will seek to address quite a few relevant and timely issues affecting women especially in the diaspora.
ADNE aim is to create the needed opportunity for Diaspora Women to discuss the role, opportunities and importance of women in the diaspora and the challenges they face together with influential women and policy makers from the EU, UN, NGO, Belgium and the Diaspora.

6-7 October 2015:Visit of the European Parliament (Strasbourg)
In the framework of its mission of assisting African diaspora members to engage with policy makers, ADNE, in partnership with the European Parliament, is organizing a visit of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. This visit be held on the 6th to 7th October 2015 will involve a diaspora movie presentation (6th October at 18.00) and a debate with the Members of the European Parliament on EU – Africa Partnership and the Post 2015 Agenda.
The Debate on the 7th October will explore current development cooperation issues that need to be considered against the background of the Post 2015 Agenda. The key focal points to be discussed are Migration Crisis, Private Sector Partnership, Natural Resources management and Fiscal Policies and Regional Integration in Africa.
Additionally, the Members of Parliament will receive by way of a manifesto the outcome of the European Development Days Debate on Culture and its role in for sustainable development.
Bringing together 50 experts from African Diaspora and representatives of African Diaspora Organizations, this meeting is expected to explore potential changes required on the approach of various global issues, policymaking processes to reflect the evolving nature of these issues without compromising the future direction of the cooperation.

The Lab session entitled “Culture and Development: How to leverage the benefits of culture for sustainable development? Organized in the framework of the European Development Days (EDD15), the Lab session brought together 9 Organizations form African Diaspora Networks (ADN, Africa Rise, AKDBL, NIDOE-BELUX, Meridia Partners, Ola-Dele Kuku Projects, Euromed-CDC, Dare authenticity) as well as European and International organizations (Foundation for European Sustainable Tourism and UNESCO).
